Santa Cruz Quad X VX Skate Tech

Quad X VX Technology

VX decks are thinner, stronger, and have more pop than standard 7 ply decks, featuring 5 plies of North American Maple and 2 layers of Quad X technology.

What is Quad X?
- Quad X combines fiberglass and carbon fibre in a crosswise-connected composite structure, adding strength and rigidity to the deck.
- Two layers of Quad X replace two of the traditional seven maple plies, with one layer positioned towards the top of the deck and one towards the bottom.
- The composite construction allows VX decks to have a thinner, lighter profile than a standard 7 ply deck, without compromising strength.
- The fiberglass and carbon fibre reinforcement helps the deck resist snapping, breaking and chipping, particularly under heavy impacts and landings.
- The added rigidity helps the deck maintain its crisp, responsive feel and pop for longer than a standard maple construction.
